A place to understand your trading
Bring your trading history, account balances, performance charts and daily notes into your own private journal. cTrader synchronization supplies view-only broker records for review and recordkeeping.
My Trading Journal is an independent project operated by Tinotenda Bumhira at utilityinsights.co.za, also known as Utility Insights. It is not a broker and is not operated by cTrader or Spotware. Your trading funds stay with your broker.
Multiple accounts, one review
My Trading Journal is a hosted service where each trader can sign up, connect their own cTrader accounts and review their own activity across multiple accounts. The service is free to use. Combine accounts on the dashboard and calendar, then open a day to see its trades grouped by account.
What happens when you sign up
- Sign in with Google. We use your Google account identifier and email to create your journal. This does not give us access to Gmail, contacts or Drive files.
- Authorize cTrader separately. The Connect cTrader button takes you to cTrader to approve account-information access. Enter your cTrader password there, not in this journal. Google sign-in alone does not connect a trading account.
- Choose the accounts to journal. The app lists the accounts returned by cTrader, then imports trading history for the accounts you select. It stores records on the journal server and checks for new activity in the background, even when your browser is closed.
- Review and add context. Explore your dashboard, calendar and reports, add private notes, and export your records. Different account currencies keep separate monetary totals.
Read-only access, explained
The connection can read financial information such as account identifiers, balances, trades, positions, fees and cash movements. It cannot place, change or cancel orders, close positions, or withdraw funds. The app requests cTrader's account-information permission and also blocks trading requests within its integration.
Read-only still means sharing sensitive information. The server stores encrypted connection tokens so it can keep syncing without asking for your password. Your journal is separated from other users' journals, but authorized service operators may access stored information for support, maintenance or legal obligations. It is not end-to-end encrypted. No online service can guarantee complete security.
Read about connection permissions, security protections and stopping sync and requesting deletionbefore deciding whether to connect. You can try a demo account first if you prefer.
Free to use. Feedback welcome.
The current service is free to use. Feedback is voluntary and helps identify confusing screens, missing features and calculation or synchronization issues. Send suggestions or bug reports to bumhira27@gmail.com.
Describe what happened and what you expected. Remove account numbers, balances, names and other private details from screenshots, especially in public communities. Never share passwords or connection tokens. Ask privately if a problem needs closer investigation.
